1 December Sapate
Kotoni took Sandy and Kathy to experience a little time at mass and the exquisite choral singing before we jumped on the boat to sail to Fafa for our overnight stay. The weather was magic and the water warmly inviting so snorkeling was an ongoing afternoon activity topped off with ‘Happy Birthday’ written with flowers on our bed and a bottle of champagne kindly provided by Fafa manager Claudia for the birthday boy.

The celebrations continued throughout dinner as we were perched on a special table and brought yet another divine birthday cake delivered by singing staff and served under a canopy of stars.
Happy birthday also to our nephew Lochie!!

2 December Monite
A public holiday in Tonga… But who cares we are on our island weekend away. The brisk morning swim woke Kotoni up sharply but he did agree that it was worth it when the huge array of tropical fish came up to his snorkel to continue the Birthday wishes (Luckily the water is only about 6 feet deep abating any fears Kotoni has about creatures from the deep).

The water as extremely warm and inviting so even Kotoni managed to get wet a few times as well as do a couple of kayaking trips to explore a little further out. It was a very lazy day and the biggest dilemma was whether to sit on the hammock or sun lounge… decisions decisions. No one wanted to board the boat and step back into reality but somehow we managed to drag ourselves home for a siesta before walking downtown for the final supper together and home for the convent baked birthday cake and ice cream.
Hello,my name is Jenny and with my boyfriend Alessandro we are planning to go to Tonga soon, surfing the net we came across your blog and we have to say that we were amazed with the pics and everything , We are not sure but do you run a resort there? hoping to not make a mistake in asking , to stay a month what kind of accomodation would you suggest , we would like to stay in Nuku’alofa because we would like to see if there is the possibility to actually move there to live , so we suppose all the offices to make the paperwork are situated in Nuku’alofa, again compliments for your pictures , that is amazing.
