We made it out… Sunday morning 17 June didn’t see a sunrise in Orange.
It was a very ‘dreich’ Scottish-style atmosphere as we said our final goodbyes to the brave little Orange farewell cheer squad – thank you to Mary & Darell, Kris & Peter and Lesley for leaving your snug houses to see us off on the bus to Sydney at 6.00am
It was 25 years, 5 months and 6 days since I drove into town in our little red Astra with my girlfriend Anita (Gordon was in Scotland and arrived a week later). Everything we owned fitted into that car and now we have left with three suitcases and a couple of day packs.
We are ready for the next stage of our journey into the unknown…
So many more people will have the pleasure of your contributions. Truly children of the world. Safe travels good friends. Live to you both as always. Enjoy.

I remember that journey and trip so well. Was an absolute pleasure to have been with you at the start of your time in Orange. Who would have thought 25 years later :-)…….. and I am still only 45 🙂 Can’t wait to hear what comes next xx

That was a true Orange send-off and probably re-confirmed why you were leaving…or for Gordon anyway! Happy trails, Mel
