Myanmar… you will be our new home very soon

It’s just been made official… I have been conditionally offered a teacher trainer volunteer gig in Myanmar and we will will be leaving 24 November for 18 months.

I’ll be working in the town of Bagan that focuses on giving young disadvantaged people an opportunity to build skills and knowledge within the hospitality industry. The program is anchored within a social enterprise restaurant called Sanon.

We are soooooooooooooo excited.

The next steps will include health checks, visas, predeparture training etc etc. This will be completed around our trip to Scotland via Kuala Lumpur with some other side adventures including Egypt.

    2. You have so many wonderful destinations ahead of you and I am very envious about your trip to Portugal. Check out Coimbra – a fabulous university city and the home of fado music, Make sure you schedule a few days in Porto. There is a fabulous walking tour you can do which takes you to the AMAZING book store as well as the railway station and an art deco McDonalds! Not to eat – just to look. I will try to find my post I wrote on it…

  13. OMG… how exciting. good on you. I am signing up to this blog and look forward to reading all about the Myanmar adventures. You have inspired me to seek some voluntary work also. I am currently looking at a one month stint in 2019. Tanzania, working on a women’s development project to get the ball rolling.
