We’ve started basic Burmese language training.
A morning stroll before breakfast is a perfect time to capture snippets of everyday life of this lovely city.
The Winner Inn is in the embassy area so quite green and leafy.
It is also good to practise our tiny language knowledge on unsuspecting locals.
So far we just do greetings like “mingalaba” (hello”).
In return we receive beaming (if not surprised) smiles and lots of “mingalabas” back.
Don’t think we will tackle their written script though… here is “Sonia” in Burmese:
That should read…after a few wines. On that note…can you drink alcohol in Yangon?
