Cold in your tummy

The clock struck 1.30ish and it was hot in the office with the aircon struggling to cope. My colleagues thought we all needed a Myanmar afternoon treat to cool us down.

They popped out and returned with some ‘shwe yin Aye’ to share. This kind of translates to ‘cold in your tummy’! It’s always great to try new dishes but this one was an odd sweet concoction. Here’s the recipe for those curious foodies…

Shwe Yin Aye: in a bowl mix: milk, shredded coconut, some cooked sago, small slices of brioche type bread, crushed ice and chopped assorted pieces of sweet jelly pieces.
