Today is a rebalance and get our bearings day. We have an appointment at the Novotel Hotel this afternoon to discuss staff entry, starting times, uniforms and what’s expected during the work experience.
I feel the whole of Sanon Training Restaurant is here in spirit and this is lifting the small group to an even higher level.
After the briefing I was determined to take everyone to the truly magnificent 2,500 year old Shwedagon Pagoda. So another taxi ‘squash’ was arranged for the short drive down town.
Shwedagon Pagoda is covered with hundreds of gold plates and the top of the stupa is encrusted with over 4000 jewels; the largest of which is a 72 carat diamond. It is considered to be one of the wonders of the religious world.
Recently cleaned, the gold gleamed in the evening light.
Everyone was very grateful and happy they’d had the opportunity to visit this most remarkable iconic structure and take lots of selfies for family and friends.
Feeling lucky, a joint purchase of a lottery ticket was deemed a good way to celebrate… and so they did.
What a beautiful pagoda. everyone looks like they are having a great time!
