Going to the dentist

Volunteering in a regional location can be challenging – especially when faced with a toothache… and there are no experienced dentists in your town.

So, what’s to be done?

Luckily the Australian Volunteers Program (AVP) has travel/health insurance that covers us… wherever we are.

After numerous phone calls with International SOS in Bangkok I flew to Yangon this morning to visit a state of art dental facility where the Myanmar-trained dentist sorted me out – for now. 😁

Another advantage of being part of the AVP program is knowing I have access to world class facilities if I become unwell.
